I don’t know what privileged person felt this location was a “creepy basement” because every location in Harvard Square (where this is located) is sandwiched into a small facility. The staff is insanely clean, professional, and prompt. I didn’t feel anything remotely “creepy” about it! I came here to get my brows threaded and I felt they did an exceptional job. My only complaint would be that it can get a tad inconsistent at times, but this is mostly due to human method. Definitely cannot wait to go again!

Just moved to the area and wasn’t pleased with the quality of work.
Pros: nice interior, quick service, not as painful (didn’t break skin)
Cons: I have a natural arch and explicitly stated that I wanted my eyebrows cleaned up underneath. She trimmed way to much of my eyebrow hair. Both eyebrows have different shapes; one eyebrow is almost straight instead of arched.
She did a pretty good job on my upper lip, which is why I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1.

This place is unsanitary & unprofessional and should be closed down by the health department (Mass Ave location). I’ve seen them put threads in their mouths that they use on customers. They also run a groupon scam, refusing to honor active pre-paid groupons for their services. Save yourself your precious time and money and DO NOT EVER GO IN THIS HELL HOLE!

Yes, I love Thread & Shape! Before this place opened up, I had to go to Dreams Beauty down Mass Ave, which is a terrible place for so many reasons (staff is disrespectful and does a bad job at threading eyebrows… one lady left my eyebrows ridiculously uneven), but this is a review for Thread & Shape, which is amazing.
The ladies who work here are all very polite, nice, efficient, and just good at what they do. They clean up my brows, trim them, and then give me a little aloe vera rub to soothe the area. I have been to threading places all over the place (Virginia…Los Angeles…NYC…), and Thread & Shape is definitely one of the best places I’ve been to.
I try to go at odd hours (middle of the afternoon), because lines build up during lunch time and after work hours.

Terrible experience. The lady merely took 2 hair out of my eyebrows and even in that process, she pinched my skin causing bleeding . My eyebrows have never been so out of shape. Regret wasting those $12. Wouldn’t recommend at all!

I come here regularly for my eyebrows. Thread and Shape has a rewards punch card you can use every time you visit which will eventually gift you a free threading session.
The threading technicians are pretty good. I am always happy when I leave here and do not feel like my eyebrows have been thinned. I also always ask for aloe to be put on my eyebrows after a threading session. The bonus eyebrow massage at the end of each session makes me happy!

Wow, just left this threading studio and was extremely disappointed with the service. I went around 1pm on Thursday–it wasn’t busy at all and there was one lady. She was very short with me from the beginning and seemed annoyed I had walked in. She did my brows very quickly and didn’t listen to me when I said it was hurting.
Definitely won’t be returning, the only reason I gave two stars is because I’m somewhat satisfied with how my eyebrows turned out.

Great service! An Indian lady helped me and she was the sweetest. My brows looked amazing after–she made them look so natural but defined.
This place recently began offering a discount for students and also a loyalty card program where 6 or something visits gets you ca free threading.

When I say I love this place I mean I LOVE IT.
I will wait 1 month between appointments (way too long) to make sure I make it here. I have had multiple people thread my eyebrows and everyone has done a fantastic job of retaining the shape and being gentle not to cut my skin with the thread.
Always quick, clean service 10/10!

Great and quick service! I came in as a walk-in and only waited about 10 minutes. I got my eyebrows threaded and loved how they came out – cleaned up, but not overly threaded. All in all I was in and out within about 25 minutes. Great prices as well! I don’t remember my threader’s name but she was very kind.

Can’t say that I would frequent this place if there were other options around Harvard Square — but there really aren’t that many. So when you’re on the go, Thread and Shape it is! However, after having had tried this place for more than 10 times, I recall only once when I was very satisfied with my brows.
Make sure to specify how you’d like your brows. Otherwise if you end up with thin lines for eyebrows, don’t say I didn’t warn you.
