Karissa did a great job on my hair! She was kind and honest with me, and even though my result wasn’t what I thought I was going to get going in, I love it! It’s a nice compromise between my Pinterest pictures and what actually would work for my hair. The shampooing was relaxing and what I really appreciate is she didn’t leave behind a ton of product at the back of my head as some stylists do. Looking forward to my 6-week visit!

Up until today, I would have given this business 5 stars, but after today – I cannot even give one star. I schedule my appointments 7 weeks in advance. Today was the 3rd time that I was called to have my appointment for THAT DAY canceled. Every appointment I have made in the past 6 months has been canceled last minute and I have had to reschedule. And I have made the concessions and rearranged my schedule without complaint. But this time, I am serious cannot accommodate their schedule. They advised that I could wait and have it done on 5/18 with my stylist but that is the day I leave for vacation. When asked why I should be the one being inconvenienced and if they could possibly help me I was told sorry. I asked if I need to take my business elsewhere and was basically told – I guess? If I am paying over $300 for a service, I should think that my business should be worth something, but I guess not.

This was my first time at Amber Michelle salon! The reviews were enough to get me there! Outstanding reviews for all the stylists! I scheduled an appointment for a haircut and to clean up my layers. I picked this salon and stylist Cammie in particular because I liked their Google reviews and Cammie’s IG has exactly what I was looking for. She was so nice and welcoming and really translated and educated me on what I thought I wanted and what it actually was and what it would take. I have box-dyed and thin hair, so I already knew lightning would take a few tries from the past. She was completely honest through the whole process and held conversation really well. My highlights came out as a caramel color which I actually love a lot. I’m very pleased with her services and can’t wait to come back and continue lightening up for summer!

If you want a zen experience after a long week at the office this is your place! Their salon is exceptionally clean and they go above and beyond to protect clients during this COVID crisis. Lauren Schapansky no longer works at the salon. I understand I make an easy scapegoat, but my hair was traumatized in December. She was still employed this spring. I do not believe I was the only person that wasn’t happy with their hair or the final straw. The photos speak for themselves.

I’ve been driving by for weeks and finally made an appointment online (super easy) for a full highlight and blow-dry with Hayley. She is a magician! My new blonde is gorgeous for summer and the special toner she added has completely revitalized my dry, malnourished tresses. Hayley is young and fun but has a decade of experience under her belt and works as a speedy pro. Also, her shampoo and scalp massage are hypnotic! Walked in tired and stressed and left energetic and glowing from the inside out! The salon is modern and clean with friendly staff who made this new client feel like a VIP. Booked my next 2 appointments with their easy online system and I feel ready to conquer this day! Prices are reasonable for this Lakeside area and she kindly discusses everything with you ahead of time. Cost for long hair full highlight plus toner w blow dry and flat iron just $200. It has been 20 days since this appointment and I’ve been caring for my hair with sulfate-free quality shampoo/conditioner for color-treated hair. Additionally have had to implement hair masks into my weekly regimen due to the damage these highlights caused. I have always had thick, healthy hair…even when color-treated. The kind that people compliment because it’s so shiny. I never use the product but just the occasional olive or jojoba oil for a little added moisture. My hair has never been damaged like this. As soon as water hits it, it shrivels up into a matted knot. I have no choice but to apply a leave-in conditioner just to get it untangled. It has been breaking off and falling out. And it’s orange brassy now, not caramel. In fact, brassy was the exact color I said NOT to do. I wish she would have told me she was using bleach. Also, I don’t think leaving the bleach on someone’s hair for 4 hours (no exaggeration) is a safe technique. My hair is so unhealthy and damaged. I’m thinking about chopping it just to get a fresh start. So irritated with this whole experience. Wish I could get a refund … they really should refund my money for damaging my hair so horribly. It has been falling off by heaps. Such a waste of my money and a terrible terrible experience.
Courtney C. 2/7/2021 Found the salon on Yelp and made an appointment hoping for the best. The salon takes a lot of covid precautions and I felt very safe. After I filled out a form and shared my hair goals, Haley cut my hair and did a phenomenal job. She knew the exact technical terms and approach for the description I gave. Enjoyed a great conversation with Haley and left with a seriously great new haircut! Can’t wait to go back for color.
